Wildflowers along Ouray, CO, CR 4

Gary and I hopped in his Polaris RZR side-by-side for a little adventure last Friday. Our first stop was to photograph wildflowers (see above). I couldn’t take the motorcycle, given my arm is still healing (though at last out of the sling!), so I was quite happy to be Gary’s passenger. We did a nice exploration of the CR 2 / CR 4 system, which weaves in and out of Billy Creek State Wildlife Area. I had fun piloting the RZR for awhile and am pleased to report that the trail instinct remains, even if my arm isn’t quite up to piloting a motorcycle.

We were at maybe 8000 feet elevation. These are not the high-country wildflowers. We’ll see those in July and August. I’m hoping that the late rains will encourage the high-country wildflowers this year.

Glad to see that your recovery is going well Dave! Hope to see more lessons on your web page soon, and hopefully into the Advanced Class License.
