Picayne and Placer Gulches in Five Minutes: Video

Near the ghost town of Animas Forks, Colorado, are Picayne (yes, that’s spelled right) and Placer Gulches. San Juan County Road 9 goes up Picayne Gulch (beware: steep!), hops over the divide and down into Placer Gulch. The views are fantastic! Although the trip starts amid the trees, the road quickly climbs above treeline. I took the video with my helmet camera, a GoPro Hero2 HD, and used CyberLink PowerDirector to speed up the trip quite a bit. I hope you enjoy it!
