Now, it’s a good thing that the county has dragged CR 4, 4B, and 2. But…when they drag it (you can see the rake marks) it rakes up dirt which turns rather powdery. Further, it rakes up small rocks. Riding over this is not so fun because the powder makes for poor traction, plus all those loose pebbles make for lovely ball bearings when trying to get traction. Once we have another (gentle, hopefully) rainstorm, it will turn the dust to mud which will harden and hold those loose rocks in place. Until then, go gently. (Four-wheeled vehicles will likely have no problem with this effect.)
I also traveled along Lower Powerline Road up to Kinikin and then back on Pahgre. Parts of the Lower Powerline Road have been dragged, resulting in more loose dirt. There’s one slope where my rear wheel was spinning and losing traction (and, mind you, my bike is only 250cc) because of all that loose powder. Again, after the next rain this problem should go away.
