Ouray County Fall Color: Moonshine Park on Ouray CR 5

Here’s a little treat—fall color in Ouray County, Colorado, on a little side road tucked away at the south end of Ouray County Road 5 (after entering the Uncompahgre National Forest, it becomes Forest Road 852). The road to Moonshine Park past the sign is nearly inaccessible because it’s deeply rutted, including a number of mudholes, but those were no obstacle for the motorcycle. The fall color is at peak in this video and at points aspen leaves carpet the road. Enjoy!

The video was captured using my GoPro HD Hero2, and assembled using CyberLink PowerDirector 10. The music is courtesy of PowerDirector’s Magic Music, which is their branding of SmartSound’s Sonicfire Pro.The video is marred by YouTube’s insertion of numerous video artifacts where the picture goes flooey. I’ve tried various upload formats, but have had this problem with many other uploads. It’s frustrating. If you have a suggestion, let me know. I rendered it as “best quality” (full HD) MP4. When I render in other formats, I get similar artifacts. I suspect it has to do with nearly the entire frame changing from moment to moment.
