Fixing the Fantastic Fox Finder with my new O’Scope

My Fantastic Fox Finder (see here) is a great tool, but has always seemed to skew to one side. Well, I was putting together the 11th Edition update to an Extra Class video, and thought it would be nice to feature my new Rigol DS1054Z oscilloscope as a piece of test equipment. I needed something digital to test, so I chose my old Fantastic Fox Finder. Lo and behold, it turns out the square wave generator actually didn’t generate a real square wave. This video shows how I fixed it (see schematic below). Without the o’scope, it would have puzzled me forever. Now it works!

Let me know how you like this “KEØOG Kwikie” format—a very short video (less than 5 minutes) without all the formalities and with simple production values.
