Colorado Wildflowers

purple

Small purple wildflowers that look like miniature orchids.

Today we peaked at 80°F, our first truly warm spring day this year. All the wildflowers seemed to have noticed at once. Here are some examples, found either in our back yard or across the fence in the Billy Creek State Wildlife Area.

pink

Delicate pink wildflowers, barely a half inch across

The orange ones, seen below, are probably the biggest of all the wildflowers right now.

orange

These orange wildflowers grow in clumps.

There are more than are shown here, but I’ll have to have a second go at getting pics. The little point-and-shoot, a Canon Lumix DMC-TZ5, doesn’t always read my mind about what I want it to focus on.

white flower

Little white flowers peek out underneath the grass.
