Reference Station Page Now Active

I’ve put up a page that takes you to the Reference Station list of equipment. It’s at www.dcasler.com/reference. Check it out. Comments should go to the video that introduces the reference station component.

I am in the middle of trying to design my ham shack now. I had to move it from one end of the house to another, so this will give me a perfect chance to layout the equipment not only in an ergonomic, easy to reach, easy to use and see fashion, but best design for cabling, short , efficient power runs and grounds, and coax cables as well.

By “bus bar” do you mean single point ground? That will certainly be included. Re the video list, I will implement that.

Thanks, I’ll keep this in mind. I need to build out the reference station first.

  4. Many of us are involved in Ham radio for EmComm. Will you consider a recommendation for a mobile station that is a standard for this large and important area of our hobby?
I really appreciate your work and the videos are great for new members of ARES teams.
Portability, 2m /70cm operations, reliability and auxiliary power operations are a few considerations. Minimum of 25 or 50 watts power too. I also think HF would be nice to have.
Please consider this request because as we both know When all else fails, theres Amateur Radio.

It might be a good idea to show what a good station layout might look like. With all the equipment that we place on a desk or wooden table top, and then add a monitor or two, plus Laptop, it can get crowded fro sure. Should the monitor/s be on the same level as the transceiver/s or , on a shelf just above the transceivers/ What are the considerations, +/-
You need to operate, to write on a pad, or use the keyboard of the PC etc. Many things to consider.

Dave, per prior list comments, which you concurred, your reference list needs a bus bar solution… and Id suggest adding a column to your reference list with the URL to the corresponding YouTube video (showing the relevant details, connections, images, etc.)
