Amateur Extra Lesson 8.2, Amateur Television

Here’s your video introduction to Section 8.2, Amateur Television, in the ARRL Extra Class License Manual for Ham Radio. It covers both amateur fast-scan television (real-time images) and amateur slow-scan television (non-real-time transmission of still images).

When you are finished and have studied the manual and the test questions, you can return to the list of Amateur Extra Class videos by clicking here.

To see how to download MMSSTV, continue reading.

You can download MMSSTV software by clicking here, but BEWARE. See the following image that shows you what to download!

When you download the software, beware! Do not click on the great big green box. That box downloads nasty "adware." Rather, download by clicking on the link as shown by the arrrow saying "Download this!"

I am going for my Extra license and I find all of it hard., even the tech and general classes were very difficult for me., but one of the Elmers in class recommended watching your videos, and what a remarkable thing….., for once I’m getting a much better understanding even tho its still difficult for me to thoroughly understand….. your videos have helped me tremendously.I am very grateful for you and thankful that you were recommended.*..I don’t know if I will pass my test to become an Extra, and if I don’t I will try again next year., but most importantly I’m happy to finally understand some of it. You have a gift in teaching. God bless you…. *
